Hi — I'm James Richardson, and I built and run this site. It's a personal resume and portfolio. I try to keep it simple: this page explains exactly what information is collected when you visit, and what I do with it.
What This Site Does
jamsroy.net is a static resume site. It hosts my professional history, project portfolio, skills, and a downloadable PDF of my resume. It does not have a contact form, comments, user accounts, or a database.
Information Collected Automatically
Like virtually every website on the internet, basic request data is logged by the infrastructure that serves this site:
- Your IP address (used by Cloudflare for security and routing)
- The page you requested and the response code
- Your browser's user-agent string
- The country your request appears to come from (geolocated from your IP, used by Cloudflare for routing)
These logs are kept by Cloudflare for up to 30 days for security and debugging, then rotated out. I do not have direct access to per-visitor logs and do not profile individual visitors.
Cookies and Tracking
This site does not run analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Facebook Pixel, no advertising cookies). The only cookies that may be set are Cloudflare's own functional/security cookies.
Information You Give Me
If you email me at the address listed in my resume PDF, I receive whatever you choose to send. I use email only to respond to your message. I do not add you to any mailing list.
Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare — CDN and DNS. All traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare's network for security and performance. Their privacy policy applies to the data they collect.
- GitHub — I store the source code for this site in a public GitHub repository. If you fork it, GitHub's privacy policy applies to your interaction with that repository.
I do not embed third-party tracking, advertising, or social media widgets.
Children
This is a professional resume site. It is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If I change anything material, I will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes (such as adding analytics), I will add a brief note on the home page.
